Last weekend I had some fun at Galesburg’s Railroad Days Festival and headed down to the carnival midway and did some street photography from the hip. Its a nice change of pace to get to do that, since Galesburg usually lacks the numbers to make these shots viable.
Certainly you can tell that these photos have a gloomy feeling to them in the B&W conversion choice as well as the expressions I chose to focus on. It was a miserably hot day, and a lot of the time the adults enthusiasm by the end of the day spent in the hot sun at the carnival becomes morose.
